I go by my middle name, Sebastian. I have taught English as a Foreign Language, English as a Second Language, and Spanish Language and Literature. I’ve worked as a teacher in the United States, Colombia, South Korea and Vietnam.
Language is a window on the world. However, beyond books, I count among my many blessings the great opportunity I have had traveling and teaching. Through this hobby, I have learned a lot about myself and the world we share.
After four years at Kent School, I studied economics at Wesleyan University for my bachelor’s degree. I studied a diploma course in finance at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana in Medellin, Colombia. I finished the Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) in London. And, I studied Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) at New School in New York City for my master’s degree.
I have taught young learners, teens and adults. I maintain public school teaching certificates in TESOL and Bilingual Education. Since 2020, I have been honored to work as a Virtual English Language Fellow and Virtual English Language Educator through the U.S. Department of State’s English Language Programs and EducationUSA.
